You beastly creature,
Small yet mighty!
Screaming, throwing a fit.
Fighting life with grit!
You remind us of why we cry.
Where does this energy and courage
Go when we grow old?
I can't cry for longer than 20 minutes.
But it's been hours, and you go on!
How brave of you,
On this empty carriage
To protest and rage.
It's late and I'm tired,
The light is too bright.
Throw up your arms and wail!
When the world becomes unfair.
In the silence of the night
I fear I might be alone.
The whole train has gone to sleep,
But you coo; cough or laugh,
And I know that you are here.
So keep on, keep on.
Fight on! Fight on!
